A destination for relaxation and activities

Ekerum is one of Scandinavia’s most visited resort destinations, located on the beautiful and sun-drenched island of Öland. With golf as its foundation, the business has evolved into a diverse destination offering a wide range of activities, including football, attracting national teams, top-tier clubs, and international teams. Open year-round, Ekerum is also a popular venue for conferences and events, featuring restaurants, spa facilities, and an extensive range of leisure activities. With several hundred building rights already approved, the resort also has the long-term potential to develop into a small community in its own right. Sustainability is an integral part of the business. Ekerum has, among other distinctions, been recognised as the “World’s Best Eco Friendly Golf Facility” and supports women’s shelters through the Ekerum Charity initiative.

“It is a privilege to work alongside fantastic colleagues in a place that brings joy and well-being to our guests. Knowing that we can also make a positive difference, both in small ways and within our local community, is something that feels rewarding on a very personal level.”

With a strong ability to meet the evolving needs of both individuals and businesses, Ekerum is well positioned for continued long-term development within tourism, hospitality, and corporate events.

2025 in brief: stability in turbulent times

  • Result: In 2025, Ekerum achieved record revenue in its core operations, excluding property sales, driven by strong demand for golf and football activities, as well as increased attractiveness through its new restaurant and renovated spa facilities.
  • Events during the year: Nineteen robotic lawn mowers were deployed across the golf courses and football pitches, improving both efficiency and sustainability. The investment in the spa continued to perform well and has strengthened the resort’s offering during the off-season. In addition, an agreement was signed with the Swedish Football Association for annual national team training camps at Ekerum.
  • Looking ahead: Ekerum offers a strong combination of activities, food and beverage experiences, and resort amenities. Going forward, the focus will be on further developing its accommodation offering to remain an attractive destination for both leisure guests and corporate customers.
  • Sustainability focus: Access to water remains a key priority for Ekerum, and the potential for desalinating water from the Kalmar Strait is currently being evaluated. At the same time, efforts continue to reduce food waste and minimise the environmental impact of cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing operations.
  • Community engagement: Through Ekerum Charity, SEK 900,000 was raised for women’s shelters in Kalmar County between 2023 and 2025. Ekerum also supports local schools and community organisations and works actively to promote greater diversity and inclusion across its workforce.
