Our model

The business is conducted according to the following principles for current and future holdings:

  • Own, develop and acquire private companies in the Nordic region within sectors where Bjäre Invest already has an established presence, including machinery rental, land and property development, trade, and agriculture. In addition to developing its existing holdings, Bjäre Invest seeks to grow through acquisitions within defined focus areas where attractive long-term opportunities arise.

  • Exercise active and visible ownership and strive for an ownership position and level of influence that enables Bjäre Invest to implement its values, strategy, and objectives. The Group’s entrepreneurial culture and long-term approach to profitability are fundamental to the development of its portfolio companies. To support this, all holdings are expected to have a well-functioning organisation and management team led by an external CEO.

  • Invest in Nordic companies with their primary market in Sweden and with established products or services, stable cash flows, and the capacity to generate sustainable earnings and dividends. Portfolio companies are managed against clear and measurable objectives, based on historical performance as well as agreed ambitions for growth and profitability.

  • Do not invest in businesses associated with addictive products or activities, including gambling, tobacco, alcohol, and similar sectors.

Long-term value creation

Bjäre Invest operates with a holistic perspective in which sustainability is an integrated part of each company’s business model, with the ambition of developing sustainable relationships, workplaces, and businesses. Opportunities are leveraged to create long-term value and sustainable profitability across the portfolio. Within the framework of the Group’s acquisition strategy, priority is given to sectors that promote sustainable development and contribute to positive societal progress. The Group has a decentralised governance structure in which the boards and management teams of its portfolio companies are entrusted with clear mandates aligned with the Group’s purpose and values. This provides the foundation for developing and operating each business in a sustainable and responsible manner. Through an ongoing dialogue with the companies on environmental, economic, and social sustainability matters, each business is supported in navigating these areas according to its unique circumstances and opportunities.

Ängsgården – our roots

Ängsgården, located on the Bjäre Peninsula, is the childhood home of brothers Mats and Erik Paulsson. From the family farm, they began their entrepreneurial journey at a young age in the early 1950s, operating agricultural and sanitation businesses. Through hard work, determination, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, they laid the foundation for what would later become the construction company Peab, as well as a broader business development journey that eventually came to include the mountain tourism company SkiStar. In 1989, Ängsgården was expanded with a new machinery hall. In connection with this investment, Stefan and Fredrik Paulsson, sons of Mats Paulsson, acquired their first construction hoist. Recognising the need for a comprehensive provider of lifting equipment and the opportunity to build a business around it, they established what would become Kranpunkten. In its early years, the business was operated directly from the farm, marking the beginning of another successful entrepreneurial venture rooted in Ängsgården’s legacy.
