Kranpunkten strengthens expertise for an electrified future
The electrification of the construction equipment industry is transforming the market at a rapid pace. For Kranpunkten, this development involves not only investments in new equipment, but also a strong focus on expertise, safety, and the working methods of the future.
As part of this initiative, around 20 service technicians from the company’s depots across Sweden are currently undergoing specialised training in the handling and maintenance of electric-powered access equipment and high-voltage systems.
Kranpunkten was an early adopter of large fully electric aerial work platforms and has, over the past few years, steadily increased the share of electrified equipment within its rental fleet. This investment forms part of the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and electrification.
As technology evolves, so do the requirements for service and maintenance. Ensuring safe and efficient operations requires new specialist expertise in the management of high-voltage systems.
“Electrification is transforming the entire workshop environment. The role of the service technician is evolving rapidly, and entirely new skills are required to work safely with the next generation of lifting equipment,” says Robin Andersson, Workshop Manager at Kranpunkten in Gothenburg.
The training programme is delivered in collaboration with Würth and LHL Konsult and follows the new Swedish industry standard for working with electric-powered construction equipment.
