Victoria Strand’s third phase set to begin
Development of the final phase of Victoria Strand, Vejbystrand’s most seafront residential project, is now well underway. The new phase will offer thoughtfully designed homes with the sea just steps away, and strong interest in the apartments is expected. Phase 3 of Victoria Strand comprises a total of 38 apartments ranging from two to five rooms, distributed across two residential buildings that have been carefully designed and optimised for the location in terms of architecture, form, and functionality. The development also includes two exclusive penthouse apartments offering panoramic sea views from the highest level of the buildings. The two buildings offer seven different apartment types, all featuring a high standard of finish and carefully considered layouts. Balconies and outdoor spaces have been positioned with great attention to detail, allowing residents to make the most of the surrounding views.
Vejbystrand first gained recognition in the early twentieth century for its sunny location, fresh air, and coastal environment. In 1903, Crown Princess Victoria’s Coastal Sanatorium (KVK) was established here, based on the belief that the setting could provide relief to the many tuberculosis patients of the time. Over the years, the sanatorium expanded through several development phases and became an important local employer, contributing significantly to the growth of Vejbystrand. The facility later evolved into a healthcare institution before officially closing in 1986. Following a major renovation in 1999, the buildings today house the KVS Care and Nursing Home in the same historic premises.
Approximately a decade ago, the scenic and coastal sanatorium grounds were further developed into a residential area through the creation of Victoria Strand. Under this name, a total of 62 condominium apartments were built during 2010 and 2011, characterised by modern architecture, open-plan layouts, large windows, and generously sized balconies and terraces. These apartments formed Phases 1 and 2 of the Victoria Strand development.
The original buildings on the site also provide accommodation in the form of 20 rental apartments located in the main building, its wings, and the former gatekeeper’s house. The former doctor’s residence now houses a preschool, while a smaller building serves as the KVS Museum.
The completed development comprises five residential buildings containing 62 apartments, together with underground parking beneath one of the buildings. Apartments are available in four main configurations, ranging from two-bedroom homes of approximately 65 square metres to four-bedroom residences of around 110 square metres. The buildings have been strategically positioned to maximise sea views while preserving as much open parkland as possible. The building closest to the shoreline features three floors plus a penthouse level, while the remaining four buildings comprise four floors plus penthouses.
